Northern Mexico is a desert region mostly ignored by tourists. However the world famous Copper Canyon is found in this region. Copper Canyon is a series of canyons grander and deeper than the Grand Canyon. The city of Chihuahua is the entry point for the railway train through Copper Canyon. Juarez is another popular entry point into Copper Canyon. Mazatlan has a large American and European retirement community and is also known for its fine beaches.
